Once babies begin to show interest in solid foods by reaching for the food on your plate and perhaps seeming hungry and unsatisfied after feeding at the bottle or breast, it is time to start to introduce solid foods with nutritious easy to swallow finger foods. Most babies around the age of 9 months begin to utilize the ‘pincer’ grasp, picking things up with their index finger and thumb. This is a perfect time to perfect that skill by the introduction of finger foods.
